Oh, look, more fan art. Wait, is that.. anime style? Wow! When was the last time I used that!

... Eh, there's not much to say to this. Rotonhake:ton here was a random doodle in my sketchbook that I liked enough to scan and paint. I like how his eyes came out, and the fire in the background is good if not marvelous. His hair should be much darker, but I have a hard time shading dark hair and making it look right; I always end up making it lighter than it actually is. The eyes are slightly off center, but the overall shading of the face same out rather well - and this is because of all the work I did with the homestead series. It's still an "anime" head, but the shading isn't nearly so cell-shaded or cut out as I used to do because I have a more robust understanding of how faces work. I'm a little proud of myself for that.

So:

What I like: the eyes, the hair, the general cuteness of Ratonhake:ton, and his expression. I wanna hug him.

What I don't like: the lightness of the hair, the proportion/placement of a few facial elements, parts of the background.
