Description

One hour speedpaint. More practice.

Things I like:... er, nothing, really. This was practice, nothing more, nothing less. The eye is too big and either it's at the wrong angle or the entire head is the wrong angle, and I didn't even pick up on it until nee-san pointed it out. The hair is nice but doesn't look like Link, and the same thing goes with the hat. I was trying to emulate the watercolor-like quality of the Skyward Sword game since I finished it this week, but it pales in comparison to the game, and generally just doesn't look good.

But... it's practice. Simple, painful, practice.

If anyone out there had tips for speedpainting let me know.

And, as always, let me know what you think.

Okay, I have never done speedpainting, or even digital work.
But what I do like about your work is the simplicity of it.
I won't comment on the proportions, because I think they're okay.
But there's one main thing you could improve on, that I would like to point out.

That is tone.
Even though it does look a bit 3D-ish, I suggest adding more tone (different shades of colour such as green) to bring depth into the artwork, and to make the artwork have a less "flat" appearance.
Also the skin colour needs to be improved as it has a slight pink tinge to it.
Other than that you've done a good job with it <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b…" width="15" height="15" alt=":D" title=":D (Big Grin)"/>
