And, with less than 24 hours to go, I finished Zeb before school started. Whew! He was even more pressed for time than Sabine, I only spent like two hours on him or something... The price of feeling rushed is pretty obvious when you look: the background is just a gradient using the Chopper Base sky colors (someday I'll remember the name of that planet...). I've sketched Zeb a couple of times but I never really DREW him, and that pretty obvious here - the ears are flat and the shapes of his face are very rough. Also, the shading of his arms and chest plate are PAINFULLY simple. I'm not comfortable with the male form - let alone a buffed up guy like Zeb, and then to draw armor and stuff over it... He's a little lopsided, poor guy.

I don't know if there'll be a lot of Zeb in season 3. He's not my favorite character (coughcoughKANANcough) but he's a good brother to Ezra (especially a guy that has almost three decades the kid!) and I like watching this big, dour, intimidating oaf whining about wanting a bigger gun or whatever.

Anyway.

What I like: that it actually looks like Zeb given that I've never really drawn him before, the color highlights of the Chopper Base planet.

What I don't like: that it was so rushed!! Simple shading, simple shapes, lack of detail. School waits for no one I guess...

And that finishes my series (sorry Chopper, there was no way in God's green earth I was going to get a hyper-detailed droid like you onto a canvas in time), and it was nice to paint. I didn't think I'd get any time in at all, but this little series came out and I feel better for it. I didn't really have time to improve this summer, but I didn't go backwards, either. A lot of big things happened in my personal life, too, and to everyone who gave us well-wishes and helped us: thank you. We're very grateful, and I hope my pitifully small series of entries here pays back even a little of the kindness you've given us.
