I've been wanting to do this one for a while but December was MAD CRAZY at school and I had a commission that (obviously) took higher priority. Having said that, I banged this out in the last two days and am generally happy with how it came out.

I loved the s5 finale, it took a lot to de-power Twilight (a freakin' TIME SPELL fr crying out loud) to remove her friends the the maguffins they creaty, but it was worth it to see her use all of her actually KNOWLEDGE of friendship to fix a problem compared to just firing and orbital friendship cannon. Starlight was pretty compelling as a villain, and, le gasp, dare I say it? Is my favorite so far, because she's the most grounded. It's why I Luna for the same reason - but Luna was more interesting as a reformed princess, Starlight was fascinating as a villain. As much as it hurt to see Twilight advocate bullying, it was a testament to how good Starlight was to turn everything around so completely.

I agree with everyone that her backstory was rushed beyond all getout, but it's not uncommon for one moment to absolutely break a person to pieces. I kind of want an episode dedicated to her going from disillusioned filly to cult leader, just to experience it. I doubt they will, of course, but maybe I'll dare to dip my toe into mlp fanfiction...

What I like: the colors came out great, as did the perspective. Starlight's shading - especially her neck and head, Twilight's wings and her positioning (though you can't see it behind the shield....).

What I don't like: Twilight's magic shield is a little bland compared to Starlight's magic attack beam of doom - even though it's the same technique. Go fig.
