And now we have a small idea I had last night. The s5 opener for MLP was amazing for a lot of different reasons, and I kind of hope to see Starlight Glimmer - not just as the finale, but also throughout the season. It's a vain hope, I know, but just the idea of her is really interesting. And by far, my favorite part of the opener is that the ponies gave agency to other ponies to fix their own problems. That's a huge thing thematically but also to show children in general.

And, in a dark corner of my mind that I will admit to no one, this is sure to get on Equestria Daily.

As for the piece itself, Starlight is of course very cute. She has a magnetism (perhaps obviously as a cult leader) and there had to be something about her that drew other ponies to her. The idea popped into my head last night and I knew Wednesday's are one of my busiest in terms of fitting in painting time. I was shocked that my recorder told me it took only an hour, it felt longer... Anyway.

What I like: TEH CUTE!! Her eyes and hair, the pillow.

What I don't like: the wood floor (I promise, it's supposed to be wood...), her ears- I need to do a study on horse ears if I keep drawing ponies- and something about her mouth. And oh GAWD her horn. I totally forgot to do the horn.
